Aniko FC Sessions.
Our Aniko FC football sessions were the first project we launched, and they have been a huge success.
Each week, we meet with a small group of players to train, develop fitness and skills, and play a game. Through our Aniko FC sessions, we've seen people from different cultures, who would once view each other with suspicion, connecting on the pitch. We've seen people's confidence grow and their attitudes shift to ones more positive.
We've also had great feedback from our partners, to say that the benefits of these sessions have translated off the pitch. Violence and crime visibly decreased, as did drug and alcohol abuse, and community cohesion improved.
We really believe that football is a tool to address these difficult issues, and we will work to develop and implement a methodology that targets these through football training.
Since December 2017, our Aniko FC partnerships have included the Norwegian Refugee Council and Terre des hommes.
Our football sessions continue to be in strong demand, and we hope to build our capacity to grow with the potential of this project. If you can help, please donate to Aniko through our online giving page, and support us in continuing our vital work.
